@DissociaDID I need your help... I had a few traumas between age six and eight, but I dissociate about twice a week and I don't know if that means I have DID. it seems their names are Samantha/Sammy, Vivian, Blair. I mostly stay as Lola but around twice a week usually lasting most of the day i will switch and i get the feeling of dissociation so I was wondering if thats DID

I don't know if you realized this in the interview, but nin and her system are VERY protective of their littles and the way you handled when the little fronted and how kind and understanding you were is something that they likely immensely appreciate. Littles are never shown in their videos on her channel and it is to keep them safe, but you did really well and were a really great ally for them. You're so appreciated!🖤

I thoroughly enjoyed the film Split, but I never thought Split was meant to be an accurate depiction of DID. It's a M. Night Shyamalan movie, which should already give you an indication. It's a psychological thriller and it's basically also classified as a super human movie. The same way as to how Daredevil is a blind superhero - doesn't mean people that are blind can do that. It's purely fictional and it had an interesting take on a 'superhuman' with DID. Unfortunately, I think the reason why teachers use this to teach people about DID and why people think they can be murderous, is because they aren't educated on the subject. And in return, they'll be scared of people of DID. So I completely understand why they might have been offended by the film. Although, I still think it could be possible for someone with DID to have an alter with homicidal tendencies.

Honestly up until very recently I wasn't sure if I actually believed in DID. Yes, I can be kinda doubtful and paranoid and clueless. But someone else I watch on YT discussed having it and from there I watched DissociaDID and then was led to this video and let me just say, my doubts are gone. So I'm glad that through this sequence of events I can understand people a little bit better. I love how Anthony handled the whole interviews and just...this was just enlightening and a joy to watch. People can learn better, I guess.

I have a question! This sounds stupid but deal with it. I think I have did, but I’m scared. Like are you forced into a phyce ward? Is it a bad thing? Do you NEED therapy? I know how to technically deal with it but I want to understand it better without being told I’m insane. But would i be insane? Am I just because of this? Would people see me as a danger? I know me/us? But like... help? I don’t get it and I’m scared plz answer

Hi Alex! I am not an expert, but I can share what I know! You will absolutely never be forced into a psychiatric ward!! It is not a bad thing, it is your brain's response to severe trauma that you experience in childhood. While you don't 'need' therapy per se, you do need to talk to a therapist to be formally diagnosed, and from there, they may recommend therapy. The intention of this therapy is not to 'get rid of' DID, but instead to help you understand and accept it, and to help you to deal with the trauma you experienced. Therapy can also help you understand each of your alters. You would absolutely not be insane! I think something like 2% of the population has DID! Ignorant people might assume things of you, but it's important to be wary of how you communicate that you have DID. DissociaDID (from this video) and some really important videos on these topics! While again, I am not an expert, I am here to help however I can!

I wonder if they feel like a large family..? Like Kyle is the protector but I wonder if someone or some of the alters are very protective of the little and there is a mom and silly one in a sense. I hope this wasn't offensive, if anyone with DID or someone who knows/understands i'd love to here from you!

Natalie 19 ساعات قبل
Dissociadid has talked about it on their channel, it's more like being neighbors. They can form close relationships, interact, etc but every relationship is different and they aren't all close like family. One of their alters, Sally I believe, takes on a motherly role and cares for the littles often. But they can also bitterly hate each other, abuse each other, cause harm. And it's physically impossible to escape because they're in your own mind. Some alters are created, and live independently in the brain world for years without ever meeting others. They don't all live together or always talk and they fight sometimes too. Also Kyle's role is more protector of the alters who are fronting in the outside world, ready to take over and make decisions or provide logical advice to keep them safe, from physical or mental harm like a bodyguard. He also works in the inner world with trauma memory

CrepeThePancake

Some people *cough* trisha paytas *cough* definitely fake it, but it is backed by science! DissociaDID has put out a video on the science behind it. It is a complex disorder formed during childhood (before the age of 10 I believe) that is a result of severe trauma that halted the child's development of a core personality. It's the brain's response to the trauma, and is a way the brain tries to protect itself! :)

For people who are like: "But which one is the *REAL* one?" To someone with D.I.D, think of it like this, if you drop a glass bowl, and it shatters into many bits and pieces, which piece is the original piece? There is no original piece, they are parts of a whole.

I am not super familiar with DID, only with Schizophrenia as my sister has it. However, I have seen and heard some about DID that I believe these things: 1) I believe it's not faked per se, that it's a true response. 2) But I think that the alters are the SAME person's response to trauma, especially when they have "littles" as alters. 3) I almost would call it SPIRITUAL but not like evil possession...more like what our soul's do to compartmentalize traumas; our inner child was hurt, and comes out in different ways. For people with DID, it's through very obvious outward expressions. I am a Christian, so what I stated above comes from an understanding that we have a body, a heart, and a soul (which includes our mind). Our mind is very powerful, and when our true self, our soul, experiences any thing (harmful or beneficial), we respond to it. Usually therapists will enact certain practices that almost mimic alters, because it's how they get people to process things... it then, I think, becomes a common practice for those with DID, only they don't realize it's happening... Does anyone with DID or who knows more about it have thoughts on this?
Sarah Martyn
Sarah Martyn 19 ساعات قبل
@Natalie That is both fascinating and confusing to me. I don't understand from my worldview how more than one person can live within one physical body unless it's by evil possession. It's something I may never grasp.
Natalie
Natalie 19 ساعات قبل
The 2nd point is the most wrong. An alter is, in all senses but a physical body, their own completely different person. In fact, they all have bodies in the inner world that are distinctly different and defined, they can even draw themselves, and when not fronting that is who they literally are. Many alters arrive in the system with whole backstories, families, histories, knowledge, all things that until they realize they're in a system, are as real to them as your memories are to you. Alters can be different races, sexes, ethnicities (as shown by accent changes) not just an extension of one person. There is one youtuber whose name I forget, who had an alter that didn't know she was an alter. She believed for a good amount of time that she was the host alters therapist. She had a texan accent, a husband, kids, 2 phds, and fully believed she was a licensed therapist and the host was her client. She did learn that she was an alter, but then didn't desire to front anymore with that knowledge. They worked together to create her a home in the inner world, where she lives a life like any other human, disconnected from the "real world" entirely. It's fascinating if I remember the name I'll say

honestly this is really interesting, i know i'm late to this but when i was younger i allways thought DID was just something in movies but after a while i learned that this is actually real, that people actually experience this, this is the first time i've actually seen people with DID and not only that but we saw them switch between personalities (idk if that's the right words for it) but this is genuinly interesting and i feel like it needs a bit more attention because i still know so little of it, this actually makes me want to go meet a person with DID just to experience what it's like to be with them because, this may sound weird, it is genuinly interesting how their brain acts in such a different way, genuinly interesting interview

@Matea Crt yeah that does make sense. I know some of them said multiple can be there at once. Kinda like a voice that’s not “theirs” in their head. Obviously it’s not like that because they are there and real. I mean they all have there own storage of memories which is fascinating

it can be different depending on the system but yes, some system can control the switches but it requires a really good communication between the alters who are trying to switch. I hope that makes sense

MPD doesn't exist. The only people who claim it does are people who pretend they have it (and were exposed to the IDEA before manifesting it, no one has been born with it without hearing about it first and then slowly LARPing into it) and people who profit to the tune of billions of dollars by pretending to treat it. It is the biggest scam in the field of medicine, and utterly disgusting that it isn't called out. The only comparable disgrace is how long it took us to accept the world isn't flat, or how long it takes American's when presented with evidence to admit chiropractic is quackery (taught to a used car salesman by the ghost of a doctor who cured blind people using it - in his own claims). This is shameful stuff.
Natalie Pray

This is caused by trauma. It is caused by the adults in a child's life not being a caring figure. It's caused by the brain taking over and protecting. It isn't shameful. You are just being an ableist twat.

For another episode, how about do maybe something on derealization or depersonalization? Cause like it's pretty rarely talked about and while most people have the experience, usually only like 2-1 percent of the population to have the actual disorder which rather than having it occasionally, it would happen like hours daily. Idk seems like an interesting topic ^^ Awesome videos btw

Nin's little is so adorable, and mad respect to the person who gave Kyle a jacket to cover up. I've wanted to learn more about things such as DID, just so I can understand it better and differentiate between who is faking and who isn't because we live in a world where people fake so much for clout that it genuinely upsets me. I want to understand these things, not have to backtrack and start over from the faker gobbling up attention for something they've probably only heard about once and thought it'd be "cUtE aND qUiRKy" to try on.

Im ngl I never thought DID was like split WHATSOEVER, When I was young I remember making alternate personalities for fun, After I had about 12 different personas, I grew out of the phase and Heard about how people actually get what I made up when I was feeling lonely or bored, After I heard about it I did a ton of research on it, I seriously just informed myself on it, so NO split is not a reliable source lmao, Although I dont have it personally, I do understand from an outer point of view that its challenging and its scarier than we think, trying to understand a POV of anyone with any disorder is honestly the best help you can provide KNOWING that we, in a way, are trying to understand

@dsp4 yes exactly, you’re trying to figure out if she’s faking DID but that’s none of your business! she made a video on faking DID you should check that out! Nin definitely has DID, if you’re saying that it means that you’re uneducated about the subject. She’s been diagnosed by professionals, i don’t think that you’re in the right place to invalidate her diagnosis. Thinking that the disorder is cool may be the reason they clicked on the channel but then by watching the videos they find out that DID is not cool at all!!

@Matea Crt Just making an observation. I'm not saying she's not affected by mental illness, I'm saying I don't believe she's affected by DID as there are way too many theatrics around her portrayal of it. There are just too many red flags for this to be believable. I encounter people affected by mental illness on a daily basis and I know from direct observation that MI is a lot messier than that. I think there's a good chance she's affected by sociopathy or narcissistic personality disorder and she's actually propagating decent educational content, but she's definitely riding that wave of plausibility to further her own agenda. I also think a lot of her subscribers are only following because they think it's "kind of a cool illness". I'm definitely not judging her as a person. I'm judging if the content presented here is credible, which is important if you want your knowledge to be of quality, especially on social media.

I appreciate the way Anthony carried himself in this video, my only criticism would be that he probably should've asked Nin's little alter if it was okay to hug them before doing so.

While I was in the hospital they did use split to show but explained more after that it isn't like that fully just how switching can be and such.

The little was very nice. They didn't know what was happening yet decided to help the people who wanted to understand even though they were a child. Littles often hold trauma so it makes me honestly so happy that the child wanted to help people who were scared with DID who need help. It was very mature of them.

DID is kinda cool, cause its like multiple people in one body.

There’s actually a reason for that. The alters are created in the subconscious of a child, and when your a child what would one of the top things be that you would think could protect you? It’d probably be an older boy/man.
