Hope Blue Apron takes notice of the comments. Post-consumer recycled paper goods, wax, and other compostables look like they will be the way to go for people here. As for me, I'll stick to my own bulk shopping. I prefer my veggies without any packaging.

Blue apron helped me learn to cook healthy. Yes it's a bit pricey and theres a lot of packaging. But if you want to get ideas and learn new cooking skills blue apron is a really good way to start.

Christ you people act like your grocery store doesn't bag everything in plastic and styrofoam. IIRC Blueapron or Goodfood has a recycling program on their packaging, you just set them out and it gets returned to them where they recycle the packaging.

I made the sheet pan dinner and it was delicious! I used spicy mustard instead of dijon, and my vinegarette looked more liquid than this one, but it turned out great, definitely recommend trying.

Fuck Blue Apron, I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed how wasteful it looks. I just don'y understand, you still have to cook! If I don't have time to stop by the shop that means I have no time to cook either. Why not just get the recipe (I've heard there's a bunch of them on that Internet thing) and buy the ingredients accordingly?? Or the other way around; guessing what to do with the stuff at hand is literally half the fun for me. Horrible idea, this Blue Apron shit.

I'm sorry but the only people who would need Blue Apron are the elderly or people with mobility issues, any other people who use it are just plain lazy, that pasta meal has ingredients that are easy to buy in advance and keep well like the chilli flakes, pesto and garlic, don't give me the 'I don't have time to shop' rubbish, MAKE THE TIME, its just bone idle lazyness !

Let me start by saying my wife and I don't have any real cooking experience so going with something like Blue Apron or HelloFresh is a huge win if you're like us! It's helped me become a better cook and I actually enjoy the results of our weekly meals when I use these meal kits. That being said I appreciate HelloFresh over Blue Apron because the packaging is so much easier to use with HelloFresh and the recipes are usually simpler and easier to get around if you don't have much experience in the kitchen.

Sorry to jump on the same train as everyone else here and I know sponsorships are good for your income and all and I respect that, but if anything I'm sad that this is a part of the "Basics With Babish" series While you did some teaching, I'd have honestly preferred you didn't associate it with the series because this video, in the end, wasn't about teaching viewers how to become better cooks, it was a transparent advertisement for a service and definitely dilutes the whole point of Basics With Babish imo

Not a fan of blue apron. Too expensive. My husband and I used their services for about 4 months and there was something constantly wrong with my order. Forgetting to deliver a key ingredient of the dish. They will always give you a refund, but it’s just annoying.

Honestly, I'm not sure what to think about this comment section. This is the first time in my experience (not just on Binging with Babish, but on *any* channel) that I've gone into a comment section to make a video suggestion and instead found a lot of...upset (for a severe lack of a better term) people. I get that Blue Apron overdoes the packaging for whatever reason, and I can respect people that are either talking about their opinions of Blue Apron's packaging or kindly advising Babish to move away from their sponsorships, but to everyone calling him a "sellout," that's a bit of overkill. He had the chance to make some extra money, and he took it. While I get that we may not *like* that, it is something that should be respectable. We don't hate on him for having ads on his videos, and while this is admittedly different, it's not right to hate on him for advertising here.

Chicken at 175 degrees is overcooked. Anything at 125 is undercooked and right in the middle of the danger zone. (Between 40 and 140 degrees).

Blue apron seems like a good idea (on paper) it's not all that great in practice. For starters you'd have to make sure it gets in the fridge asap. Not to mention there's a chance by the time you get home may already spoiled. Because of the packaging may have thawed. You're better off using a super market pickup system. You get the same products at a better price. But that's my view. I've never used blue apron personally.

The bend and snap technique, although imperfect, is actually mostly true. The point is to get rid of the tougher fibers that are a pain to chew through, and although you might throw out a bit more than desired when you do the bend and snap, it does get rid of those unchewable ends 99% of the time!

Tried the sheet pan meal, but used chicken instead. Such a good dinner and i can't stop thinking about the asparagus. But we are wanting to do the one pot meal. I am worried about using porkchops instead of chicken thighs. Would that be an issue? They're the thick cut pork chops.

Another voice in the crowd I'm sure but is there a need for the hate on Babish? Yeah he's using Blue Apron, but when a company comes along to SPONSOR a video, it's free income so how can anyone say no? Most of us we would do it and we know it. It's not the case he outsourced companies and found Blue Apron, they found him. Despite the plastic and the overpriced costs, it is good for beginners in the kitchen who have zero knowledge of how to cook at all, so for something like that i can see this being effective, because it's then a gateway to actually going and buying your own fresh ingredients after having a few home tutorials with everything in front of you. And as for the packaging side of things, I don't know this for sure but don't Blue Apron have a recycling policy? Yeah Babish is a paid AR-vidsr, and he has a Patreon, but still money is money. I can say this much about Blue Apron. My girl has been getting it, but the servings are just enough for a petite person, but not enough if you want a little more (I think she said she gets the 2 person meal option) and the meals ARE very good, but it's stuff I can pick up at the grocery store and I prefer to cook that way because it seems Blue Apron sends us more plastic waste than actual food, but whatever. But then again, I'm very snobby towards prepped meal subscriptions because I know how to cook and seeing these arrive at the door step is insulting LOL, because they are very basic meals meant for people who don't know how to cook, which is a good thing I guess if you're reading this and don't know how to cook.
